Biography
Giles Shaxted has worked in the diving industry since age 15. He worked as an instructor in the Cayman Islands for Fisheye Photographic, where he adapted underwater photography lessons from film to compact digital around 2000. He was named a Wetpixel moderator in February 2009, alongside Darren Jew, Ryan Pedlow, and Ellen Quale ([1]).
Eric Cheng described him as a “long-time member” who helped manage Wetpixel’s Twitter feed ([2]). He was also featured on the cover of Alex Mustard’s book The Art of Diving (2006), jokingly earning the title “International Supermodel” ([3]).
His philosophy: “diving and photography should be fun, if it isn’t then why do it!”
